Since the swatches from this limited edition holiday edition were released on YouTube I’ve been intrigued by the Saint + Sinner eyeshadow palette. After selling out in stores and online, I was over the moon to finally get my hands on it.
I've been an avid Kat Von D fan since the LA Ink days, so I was happy when she launched her makeup line dedicated to being animal friendly. As a vegan herself, now the latest Kat Von D Beauty products are not made with animal ingredients.
If you're a Brit wanting to see them in their entirety, larger Debenhams stores are the place to go. I recommend any makeup fan to go and try her stuff out, if I could've bought everything - I would've, and the KVD makeup artists are always sweet and helpful.
I was impressed by the intense colours of the cult-favourite Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in K-DUB, a popping hot pink, and the Studded Kiss Lipstick in Lovecraft, a subtle dark nude, so I had high hopes for the Saint + Sinner palette.
Once opened, I awed over the vibrant

colours and immensity of shades available. I was stunned by the cathedral inspired look of the palette itself. It truly is a work of art - in the form of makeup. There's also two mirrors on each side of the palette doors which is a nice touch.
Now, down to the shadows. As mentioned earlier, the amount of colours on offer is extensive, with a tremendous 24 different shades all packed in. There is a good mix of mattes and glimmers, and each side has its own theme.
The left, 'Saint', has easy, every-day subtle looks. My favourites from this side are 'Absolution', 'Worship', 'Immaculate', 'Heaven', 'Cathedral'. The right, 'Sinner', is dark, vibrant and bold all at once. From the glittery light pink 'Rapture', to a deep black 'Sabbath', of course named after the rock gods. My favourites from 'Sinnare 'Ashes', 'Revelation', 'Vestment', 'Ministry', and 'Relic'.

These shades look great together but they are strong enough so they can be worn alone. 'Ashes' is a particular favourite of mine, an ashy, hence the name, light grey brown with a hint of glimmer. This colour is my go to shade for work, it makes my blue eyes pop and looks great on the lower lash line. If you layer it up with a couple coats and blend it with 'Immaculate', a muddy-green/brown, it creates a nice edgy smokey eye look.

Another shade that is great alone is 'Worship', a pretty shimmery purple with a brown tinge but if you pair it with 'Baptism' and 'Absolution' it really softens it up making it a great everyday work look.
For glitters you're spoilt for choice. My absolute favourite is 'Heaven', and in close second, 'Cathedral'. They're both so pigmented and dazzling, perfect for a more glam look. 'Absolution' is another great glitter, it's much lighter and softer and can even be worn as a highlighter or a topcoat on lipstick or gloss.
There are other shades so bright that I've still yet to experiment with, I think 'Ministry', a deep navy glimmer, and 'Sabbath' would create a fierce punk look together if paired with a dark lip. Also 'Relic', a bright gold, and 'Rosary', a rose crimson, are both so dynamic but I have to admit, I am a little intimidated to try them just yet. Theres even a lime green, 'Exodus', a bright firey orange, 'Devil', and a shade that resembles petrol, 'Vestment'.
Overall I am so pleased with this product. I think the packaging is beautiful and original, the artwork on the design is so detailed. So much thought has gone into this palette and you can tell, each name is so fitting for its colour and speaking of shades, when de-potted, they're so diverse they resemble a rainbow. Well done Kat, not only for creating a truly jaw dropping product, but also for showing the makeup world that it is possible to be 100% animal-friendly.
